MANAGING CONFLICT, BECOMING AN EFFECTIVE LEADER

As a result of differences, conflicts come. They are part of everybody's life with parents, teens in school from childhood and typically carried on from home to the workplace. In order to sustain and improve their profitability, the patterns in market and organizational disputes that result in their breakdown and loss are an environment that needs special attention.

The solution to these problems is good management skills which can be implemented. The process involves, “organizational change, managing change, change implementation, multicultural, change resistance, readiness for change, coping with change, communication, involvement, middle management, case study, change factors, intercultural management and involving change agents” (Savolaien, 2011).

In today’s competitive world, leadership skills are crucial for both personal and professional development. Leadership is an important function of management which helps an individual or a business to maximize efficiency and to achieve goals.

The urge to be an effective leader demands you to become a good manager. When describing the ideal characteristics of a good leader, there are essential skills that a good manger should portray. In this case, it is considered that a good manger should be equipped with human, technical and conceptual skills. These skills are vital in the delivery of organizational services. In addition, such skills will be used to determine the capacity of a manager in the bid to measure one’s effective leadership.

As such, it is considered that good managers are effective leaders.
